We are the World ~ Anniversary
On this date in 1985 the music video We are the World was released on MTV…back in the day when MTV was all about the music. Do you remember those days?
The song raised awareness and monies for the humanitarian aid to Africa. It flew to the top of the charts in a flash and won award after award. The song was overwhelmingly awesome – when it came on the radio the volume had to be turned full on, and yes, I would sing at the top of my lungs – a sound nobody wants to hear – but I’m just sure I sounded as melodic as Diana Ross…just sure of it!
To say I was an 80’s girl is an understatement for sure. I loved, loved, loved the 80’s. I graduated from high school in the 80’s, got married in the 80’s, and I had my daughter as the 80’s were coming to an end…Lots of new beginnings. I loved the clothes, the big hair, the music – it was just an exciting time in my life with great memories!

Michael and I recently went to an 80’s party and had a blast dressing up like we did back in the day!
I have to say, even yesterday – I wore a vintage ’85 Christian Dior riding jacket which I purchased on eBay to go with my riding boots…but I did sport it with hair not quite as big as I would have back in the day.
