Fashionista Friday ~ Fashionista Baby

We have a new little fashionista in our family!

…and yes, she is the most fabulous little baby girl in the entire universe!

Already a little diva…and definitely a major fashionista!

Baby Reese was so small the first Sunday she went to church that she wore a beautiful brushed silk ivory baby doll dress. She is always dressed in lace and bows and plenty of jewelry because you’re never to young to bling! Oh…and lots of PINK!

Her momma loves to put her in bows, bows, bows…the bigger the better…and her Aunt Robyn agrees…I love over the top fashions on little girls!

Thought I just had to share a few picts of our little fashionista…this little Reese…this little great neice of mine. She has an awesome big brother, Mason, who is always stylin in his own manner and he loves his baby sister…and his Aunt Robyn.

Makeup Monday ~ All That Glitters

HOT TREND FOR A FRESH SPRING FACE…

GLITTER

This isn’t for the girl who wants to be a wallflower…but wants to make a bold fun “here I am world” entrance.

…That winter look is tired and with the sunshine and flowers…comes all that glitters!

This is not your momma’s disco glitter – it hot, it’s fresh, it’s you!

Bobbie Brown has a new Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow that retails for $20.  It’s sheer, lightly pearlized shadow, which can also be used as a highlighter shade under the brow bone. Comes in a sleek, flip-top compact that can be used individually or assembled into customizable palettes with a many various shades.

My absolute fav…and oh so inexpensive is an eyeliner with just a hint of glitter. It comes in various shades and retails for about $3…yes, that’s right. Jordana Glitter Rocks can be purchased at your local Walgreens. It’s practically smudge proof, lasts all day…I may touch it up a bit before going out at night. I wear the black…yes, the black…and in the daytime. Me, Bret Michael and Adam Lambert all seem to have the same philosophy about black eyeliner…just do it!

Stilla has a rocking pink glitter lip gloss that isn’t over the top for you more conservatives girls. It’s pretty, it’s shimmery, it’s shiney…it’s a little extra bling to give you that over the top look!

For that all over shimmer bronzer I use Jane Shimmering Bronzing Powder. I love it – stays on all day, gives a beautiful glow, and it won’t break the bank!

Not sure where to start, Check out GlitterGalore&More!

…just have fun with it…add a little or a lot of GLITTER…whatever fits you…well you can go out on the edge just a little, can’t you?!

Fashionista Friday ~ Jeggings

Leggings + Jeans = Jeggings

Yes, jeggings made their debut back in the late 80’s – early 90’s and were a hot fad back in the day…but they hit the runways again back in fall ’09…and are a smokin hot trend for Spring.

Jeggings give a sleek super skinny look with that “suck it in” thing going on that you get from wearing a great pair of leggings.

Take a shirt dress or tunic from last year and pair it with some jeggings…add a sassy pair of ballet flats or a kickin pair of gladiator sandals and you’re updated to a hot new look for Spring.

Today Jeggings come in a range of price points, from extremely affordable to a little more than I would pay. You can pick up a pair from Hue for $34, Joe’s Jeans for $98, or up to $138 for a pair of C&C California’s. This funky fad comes in acid washed (yes, it’s back), distressed, or indigo dark denim.

Back in the Day

Back in the day…my jeggings were my absolute fav! As you can see with my BIG hair and huge shoulder pads…I loved the trend then –  tucked into a pair of slouch socks and a pair of high-top Reeboks. —————>>>

Of course, that pair is long gone, so for me the best age appropriate choice  is a darker color, with no rips and tears…pair ’em up with a sassy little spring dress…and ready for a day of play!

So will you do the jeggings thing…or not? I’m thinking it’s kind of a fun look!

Fashionista Friday ~ Spring is in the Air and Bows are Everywhere

The big accessory for Spring 2010…the BIG Bow.

Bows are everywhere, on everything…and the BIGGER, the better!

The day my daughter was born was the day she started accessorizing. Yes, within hours of her birth she had her first bow in her hair…and every day, not matter if we were staying in all day long or going out shopping, to church, or for an afternoon stroll around the neighborhood…she stylin a bow. To this day she still loves to accessorize!

It may be a watch, a purse, a dress, or a blouse ~ you name it and you’ll find one with a bow attached these days.

The price range is inexpensive to extravagant so take your pick.

If you have a tired outfit…add a bow to freshen it up – a belt, a pin, a hot pair of shoes.

A hot look for Spring is the BIG Lucy Bow head wrap – so easy to do with this quick DIY video. Check it out below and sport a BIG bow this weekend!

Let’s Celebrate ~ It’s National Peach Cobbler Day

Image ‘wanderingnome' Flickr CreativeCommons

Today is National Peach Cobbler Day

…and yes, I make the best peach cobbler on the planet. Yes, I do. I am not afraid to say it! It’s full of butter and calories…so it’s not one of those thing I would serve every day…but it’s a treat for special occasion.

…and what a better special occasion than National Peach Cobbler Day?!

It’s so easy…served warm and topped with some vanilla bean ice cream…Well, you try it and tell me if it’s not the best you’ve ever tasted!

PEACH COBBLER:

1 Cup Flour

1 Cup Sugar

2 tsp Baking Powder

½ tsp Salt

1 tsp Vanilla

¾ Cup Milk

1 Stick Butter (Melted)

1 16 oz Can Sliced Peaches

Cinnamon

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and vanilla in bowl. Add milk and butter; mix well. Pour into 8×8 baking dish. Spoon peaches with juice over batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

Serve warm.

Yum.
