It’s National Chocolate Cake Day

January 27th is National Chocolate Cake Day!

For a chocoholic this day is heaven! I mean moist chocolate cake!

Yes, Thank you!

…not the cake you pick up at the super-center bakery …but a decadent treat made with chocolate love!

…not the kind that comes from a box …but a fab recipe that SCREAMS: CHOCOLATE!

Hershey’s has an easy recipe for the perfect chocolate cake …that you just gotta try!

The Christmas Story …My Favorite

There are tons of Christmas Story videos flying around in cyberspace this year…

…but this one is, by far, my favorite!

It’s definitely worth a little minute of your time to watch …and yes, it will make you smile!

White Christmas

Christmas Day 1941

…eighteen days following the overwhelming attack on Pearl Harbor. Families found it difficult to celebrate the “peace on earth, good will toward men” that usually brought comfort and joy during the holidays. Christmas day, which usually was celebrated with joy and laughter just felt like darkness and despair for Americans.

And then on Christmas night

Bing Crosby sang White Christmas for the first time.

The sweet melody of this song brought minds to forget about the devastating tragedy as their minds drifted into the beautiful lyrics reminiscing about a Snow White Christmas.

It’s no wonder that this is the #1 Christmas Song of all time …for all of you #ChristmasNerds out there.

The movie came out 13 years later …and it’s my #1 all-time favorite movie. Michael and I watched it Saturday evening all cozy on the couch in front of the fire.

What If Baby Jesus Were Born This Year…

What if Baby Jesus were born this year?

…how different would the story unfold? It is the digital age you know…

Blackberry, iPads, Twitter, Facebook, Farmville …and what about the Wisemen – How would they follow the star?

You Ain’t Nothin But a Wise Guy…

You Ain’t Nothin But a Wise Guy…

You can just hear me singing that in the Elvis voice ~ can’t you…

Ok, maybe not!

But if you don’t think we have any fun at the Big Mecca we call The Assemblies of God Headquarters …or whatever we’re calling it these days.

…well you are so WRONG!

This is FUN! You’ve gotta watch!

We have this fabulous nativity set up at HQ!

…oh, did I say FABULOUS?

I meant CREEPY life-size nativity. Seriously …it’s creepy.

The characters are scary cavemen looking life-size manikans. Yes, it looks like we’re doing a Geiko commercial! At least this year Mary has on white and blue …last year she was the woman in Red …yes, that’s right Red!

Well, the camel is pretty awesome, though!

Dan Morrison, one of our CRAZY co-workers here at the A/G (who is always just about the first to show up for one of my cupcakes when I am sharing here at work, by the way) changed into one of the wise man costumes right as other employees were heading into the cafe for lunch…

This is PRICELESS:

Happy Birthday Baby Fashionista!

One year ago my precious baby fashionista great neice arrived…

We have a new little fashionista in our family! (repost)

…and yes, she is the most fabulous little baby girl in the entire universe!

Already a little diva…and definitely a major fashionista!

Baby Reese was so small the first Sunday she went to church that she wore a beautiful brushed silk ivory baby doll dress. She is always dressed in lace and bows and plenty of jewelry because you’re never to young to bling! Oh…and lots of PINK!

Her momma loves to put her in bows, bows, bows…the bigger the better…and her Aunt Robyn agrees…I love over the top fashions on little girls!

Thought I just had to share a few picts of our little fashionista…this little Reese…this little great neice of mine. She has an awesome big brother, Mason, who is always stylin in his own manner and he loves his baby sister…and his Aunt Robyn.

…and this is our baby fashionista today!

Fashionista Friday ~ Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Merry Christmas from the Redmon's ...in the Ugly Christmas Sweaters ...back in the day

Nothing Says Merry Christmas

…Like an UGLY Christmas Sweater!

What? I got rid of all of mine by the time Y2K Hit. I mean back in the 80’s-90’s I had them all! …and they all had HUGE shoulder pads of course. (I still love those HUGE shoulder pads – I’ve kept them hidden in my closet and am praying for their return to the fashion world!)

…and yes I dressed my daughter in them as well! We just had to be a festive family …just sayin

Those sweater’s have LONG since made their way to the Goodwill Store.

…and now I find they are back and hotter than ever (of course, they’re hot ~ they’re sweaters! *Zing*)

…who would have thought?

Yes, I’m going to one of those UGLY Christmas Sweater Parties …what to do? …what to wear?

I was walking through Dillards on Black Friday …and yes, there were racks of horrific holiday wear displayed! …yes, Dillards. The place where I buy BCBG, and Guess Shoes, and Coach Purses …is offering Ugly Holiday Sweaters this season.

You can also find AWESOME Christmas Sweaters on UglyChristmasSweaters.com, Ebay, and Amazon …they are everywhere these days!

…will I pay the retail price …or try out a smelly thrift store to possibly buy back my festive wear?

I have a fashionista dilemma on my hands for sure.

…are you going to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party this holiday season?
